Soumya, the Founder, is an economics graduate from the University of Warwick. She has extensive experience in the development sector with stints at 3IE and projects in Ghana, South Africa and Haryana. She is a trained classical singer and painter and has a deep love for running. You could find her in the office snacking on new weekly obsessions or cracking really bad jokes.
Aradhana, Co-Lead, is an MBA graduate from Cornell University. She has worked with multinationals such as P&G and EY in their marketing and risk advisory departments. Her work on sustainability leadership at the University of Cambridge brings valuable expertise to the project. She brings music to the team with her piano and ukulele. It is also unlikely to not catch her singing or talking about food when you visit the office!
Parul is the Communications and Outreach Lead. She has rich experience in working with communities, on nutrition, education and healthcare. You can often find her cracking terrible jokes, or fueling up on coffee.
Subhojit, Founders Office, is a molecular biology post-graduate from Tezpur University who accidentally wandered into the lanes of the development sector while attempting to understand people, passion and society through Gandhi Fellowship. He brings unconventional ideas to the table and leans heavily on the pillars of sustainability and impact. He claims that he can wear many hats and can adapt to any situation, something he gets to test almost every day at Baala.
A writer at heart, Dr. Ankita Gupta is a Communications and Research Specialist at Project Baala. An Ex- ICSSR Doctoral Fellow she has been conducting research on the Menstrual Discourse in India for the last 7 years, with a keen focus on language, literature and culture . A mix of academia, corporate and development sector, Ankita likes to try new food and cafes in her free time!
Navrattan is the Accountant at Project Baala. He loves working with people and you can often find him in the middle of an engaging conversation across different subjects. In his free time, Navrattan tries to travel to places with historical importance.
Karishma is a seasoned professional with a Master’s in Public Health Administration from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, and an graduate degree in Pharmacy. With a decade of experience in building monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems across livelihood, education, and health sectors, she excels in both operational and tech-related aspects of M&E. She’s all about striking that perfect work-life balance, bringing kindness, ethics, and a whole lot of passion to everything she does. She enjoys exploring pop culture, watching the latest movies, travelling to new destinations, listening to music, getting lost in captivating books, and savoring her favorite coffee.
Shiwani is a Human Rights Lawyer who has been associated with the implementation of Baala’s projects since 2019. A recent graduate of SOAS, University of London, with an LLM in Human Rights, Conflict, and Justice as a Felix Scholar, she is a passionate advocate for Business and Human Rights, having served as a panelist at global conferences on the subject. She can be found geeking out about climate justice, gender equality, human rights, movies, books and pop-culture on most days. She is working as Implementation and Research Lead at Project Baala.
A mother of three, Sita Sharma, is an experienced juggler. Along with being a passionate housewife, she is also an inspiration for the women of her community owing to her role of Associate Head at Baala. Along with working as a freelance beautician, she earlier worked with an educational institute and was trusted with their marketing and lead generation. Talking to people and understanding their ground is what she loves to do. She is also fond of exploring new skills...
Mohita is a trainee fellow at Baala and is a Computer Science Engineer, who loves travelling and meeting new people. She loves nature and spends most of her time around plants when she is at home. She has reached out to more than 7000 menstruators to date through 70+ workshops.
Shiwani is a trainee fellow at Baala since 2019. She is studying law at Symbiosis Law School. She has worked on-ground with young adults across the country and is highly enthusiastic about climate change, mental health and human rights. She loves reading and would any day prefer animals over humans. She has conducted 40+ workshops at Baala.
Aastha is a mathematics graduate from Lady Shri Ram College. She conjugated with Baala in the early months of 2019. She always has found herself working for the betterment of society. She has encountered such countless things from visit to Alwar's govt school last year and will always remember and cherish those smiling faces sitting in wear tear walls.
Anjali is a volunteer with Project Baala. She is a graduate Bachelor of Commerce from Lady Shri Ram College and currently pursuing a masters degree from the Department of Commerce, University of Delhi. While juggling her big dreams of entering the premier administrative services of India, her academics, and philosophy, she is a friend's counsellor always ready to help. She has conducted 20+ workshops at Baala.
Rishita is a psychology graduate from Delhi University. She has co-founded an NGO working for mental health awareness called Raahat Initiative. She is an eloquent public speaker, active debater and youth parliamentarian. She has been working with Baala since 2018 and has conducted 50+ workshops.
Muskaan has completed her BA(Hons) in History from Lady Shriram College, Delhi University. Even while pursuing her undergrad studies, she desires to make a difference in the lives of underserved communities. She is also a fitness enthusiast besides being an avid reader having an interest in history, mythology and realist literature. She has conducted over 35 workshops with them since 2019.
Amita is a student at Ambedkar University Delhi, currently doing her masters in Psychology. While she may read academic papers in her free time, she keeps her creative juices flowing through dance and sketching. She enjoys sharing this space with like-minded and zealous women who want to make the world a better place. She has conducted 20+ workshops at Baala and has written an amazing article on menstruation and athletes.
