From the National Survey on Menstrual Hygiene Management, it shows that 100% of young girls are not exposed to discussion on the process of menstruation. This leads to myths and taboos associated with menstruation. Another 87% use old cloth as absorbents because they cannot afford modern sanitary ware. This cloth is often unclean and can lead to reproductive tract infections. However, one big issue is that 60% of the girls missed school on account of menstruation. This has a huge impact on the academic quality of the girls as well as their self-esteem and confidence.
